From Skeptic to Leader: My ToastMaster Journey

When I first heard about Toastmasters, I was skeptical. I had no interest in public speaking or leadership roles. But in 2019, I joined on a whim, encouraged by a fellow Toastmaster, Cynthia Scott. What started as organizing meetings quickly turned into something much more.

Over the next six years, I found my voice, grew as a leader, and took on roles I never thought I’d be capable of. From becoming President of Heart2Heart to managing district finances and leading club growth initiatives, Toastmasters pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best ways possible.

Along the way, I chartered new clubs, helped create the Open House Kit, and earned recognition for achieving high DCP points. But perhaps the most rewarding part of my journey has been the people I’ve met and the confidence I’ve gained.

While I ran for District Director and wasn’t selected, I’m not done yet.

Toastmasters has given me far more than I ever expected, and I’m excited to continue the journey. If you’re considering joining, don’t hesitate—it’s a decision you won’t regret.

Our club meetings are the fourth Thursday of every month on Zoom from 6-7 pm PT and the first Saturday of the month is our Hybrid Meeting on Zoom and in person from 3:30 PM to 6 PM PT.
