From Stage Fright to Spotlight

At Heart2Heart Toastmasters, we believe in the power of transformation—and few stories illustrate that better than that of our very own VP of Membership, Kimi Avary.

Not long ago, Kimi was someone who dreaded public speaking. Just the thought of being in the spotlight would trigger intense stage fright. Speaking up, especially in front of an audience, felt overwhelming and paralyzing. But something incredible happened when she joined Toastmasters: she found her voice.

Through the support, structure, and encouragement of the Toastmasters program, Kimi didn’t just overcome her fear—she became a dynamic and engaging speaker. This year, her hard work and courage paid off in a big way. Kimi won Heart2Heart's club speech contest and went on to take first place at the area level as well!
But her journey didn’t stop there.

One of the lesser-known (but equally powerful) aspects of Toastmasters is learning to evaluate and offer constructive feedback to others. It’s a skill that builds confidence, deepens understanding, and empowers others to grow. Kimi embraced this challenge, too—and once again, she excelled. In this season’s evaluation contests, Kimi secured first place at both the club and area levels.

We’re so proud of Kimi and inspired by her journey. She is living proof that with the right support, even the most daunting fears can be transformed into powerful strengths.
