Helping Employers Save Money on Heathcare

Helping Employers Save Money on Heathcare

My vision for healthier workplaces began early in my nursing career. After decades in healthcare, I’ve seen how often the system focuses on managing illness rather than supporting true health—and how costly that approach has become for both employers and employees.

Employers want lower healthcare costs, fewer sick days, and higher productivity. I want healthier people. Fortunately, those goals align when we approach healthcare differently.

I believe there are three principles that can meaningfully improve workplace health: shared values, informed consent, and respect for the individual.

Shared Values

At the core, we all want people to feel well and function at their best. When employees are healthy, absenteeism drops, morale improves, and productivity rises. Employers benefit, and employees gain better quality of life. Health becomes a shared win rather than a burden.

Informed Consent

True informed consent means more than following recommendations—it means understanding them. Employees deserve clear information about risks, benefits, and alternatives so they can make decisions aligned with their values. Transparency builds trust and leads to better health outcomes.

Respecting the Individual

Health is personal, and one-size-fits-all solutions rarely work. When people are heard and supported in making choices that fit their lives, meaningful change becomes possible. Empowered individuals often experience better outcomes and greater satisfaction with their care.

I don’t believe in forcing healthcare decisions. I believe in freedom of choice, honest information, and respect. When workplace wellness initiatives reflect these values, employers see lower costs and stronger teams—and people experience healthier, happier lives.

Healthier workplaces don’t happen by accident. They are built by aligning values, transparency, and individual choice.
