The Human Adventure
By Michelle Peticolas
“You are a spiritual being having a human adventure.” It’s an inspiring idea—but what if the real challenge isn’t your purpose, but your connection to your body?
Your body is always communicating through sensations, emotions, and thoughts. A tight chest, sudden irritation, or restless energy—these aren’t random. They’re signals. Yet most of us learned early in life to ignore them, taught to sit still, stay quiet, and push through.
But ignored signals don’t disappear—they build up.
Unprocessed emotions can show up as stress, overreactions, or even physical discomfort. That moment when you feel disproportionately upset? It might not just be about what’s happening now—it could be tied to past experiences your body hasn’t fully processed.
Here’s the twist: your body is wired for survival, not fulfillment. It seeks safety and comfort, while your deeper self may crave growth and purpose. That tension can lead to procrastination, self-doubt, or perfectly timed “obstacles” when you try to move forward.
So what’s the solution?
Start listening.
Pause and ask yourself:
- What am I feeling in my body?
- What emotion is underneath?
- Is this reaction about now—or something older?
Awareness is the first step toward change.
Because in the end, the question isn’t just about purpose—it’s about regret.
If you were to look back on your life… would you wish you had listened sooner?
